Lower ribs spread the workpiece weight across the table body, so the working face is less likely to dip when a large frame or base plate is placed near one side. This matters when the fixture must stay square during tack welding.
Rib design should match the workpiece shape and the load position. A long frame may load the edge more than the center. A compact machine base may place more weight on a few points. Adjustable legs also help because they keep the table supported on an uneven floor. Without a stable support system, even a good tabletop can move during fitting work.
Reinforced ribs also help protect the hole pattern and edge marks. When the body stays steady, pins, stops, and clamps can keep their location more consistently. Before choosing a table, a workshop should consider common workpiece weight, lifting method, and whether the load is placed near the center or toward the side.
A ribbed table should also be supported correctly during installation. If one leg floats or one corner is forced down, the body may not carry weight evenly. Leveling the feet before production helps the rib structure do its job and protects the working face over long use.
