Integrated scale rulers on all edges - fast measurement without extra tools. On a welding layout table, edge rulers help the operator place stops, align tubes, and check distances while the part is already on the table. This saves time during the first setup because the operator does not need to mark every line by hand or search for a separate measuring tool.
Scale marks work best when they are used together with the hole grid and coordinate marks. The hole grid gives fixed positions, while the edge ruler helps with part edges that do not fall exactly on a hole center. For repeated orders, the operator can record the hole row, scale position, and clamp type in a fixture sheet. The next setup can then start from known points.
The ruler edge should stay clean. Spatter, oil sludge, and rust can cover small marks and reduce accuracy. Wipe the edge after welding, protect it from impacts, and check the starting point before batch work. A clear ruler edge helps layout, checking, and final inspection move faster.
Scale marks are most useful when they are easy to read from the normal working side of the table. For large assemblies, the operator can mark reference directions on the fixture sheet. This keeps the next worker from reversing the layout or measuring from the wrong edge.
