T-slot system accepts any clamp - universal compatibility with standard tooling. In a welding shop, this means the table can work with sliding clamps, stop blocks, pins, and support blocks without building a new base plate for every order. A T-slot gives the clamp a guided path, while a hole grid gives fixed reference points for repeat work. When both systems are planned well, the operator can choose the fastest holding method for the part shape.
A clamping layout should leave the weld seam open. The clamp needs enough reach, but it should not block the torch or force the operator into a poor welding angle. Slots are helpful when a clamp must move along a straight line. Hole systems are better when the same position must be rebuilt later.
Clean holes and clean slots are important. Spatter can stop a pin from seating, and dust inside a slot can make a clamp slide unevenly. A simple check before tack welding helps avoid rework. With a clear clamping plan, the table supports faster setup and better repeatability across different welded parts.
When the table is used by different teams, the fixture plan should note the clamp type and slot position. This avoids guesswork on the next shift. It also helps the workshop compare which clamping route is faster for small brackets, tubes, or larger welded frames.
